Can I ask her not to grow up?

Raene starts Kindergarten in a few weeks. We went to her new school yesterday to finish registering her. She will now be attending school with her cousins, Ashley, Josh and Krista. And we found out that her teacher will be out with her new baby for the first part of the year and be back in October. I'm excited that she will be going every afternoon.

Raene has picked out an adorable Tinkerbell backpack and we are going to be finishing her school shopping next week. I don't think Ruby has realized that Raene is going to be gone yet. She hated leaving Raene at school last year. But we think Raene will excel dramatically this year. She is reading and doing math. She loves science and astronomy. Her social skills have improved immensely. I think the biggest issue is going to be making sure she doesnt get bored and stays challenged. I can't believe she turns 5 in a month.

In other news Ruby is almost fully potty trained now. She has been a tough one because she's so busy she had no interest in stopping her fun to use the facilities. But she finally got annoyed with pull-ups enough to give it a try. Yay!

And, if things weren't weird enough in our household we have added some new temporary pets. ANTS! Yes, we finally got around to sending away for the ants for Raene's ant farm. She and Ruby are completely enthralled by them (well, I guess Neil and I are too - haha). Those little buggers are pretty cool to watch.
