Adams Family Christmas

We celebrated in the evening this year on the Sunday after Christmas. It turned out really fun because we did all finger food and lot of drinks. It was very relaxed and the kids had a lot of fun opening their gifts.

Christmas Morn/Ritz Family Christmas

Raene was up at 4:30am on Christmas morning! We managed to keep her in bed until about 6:10am when she just couldn't wait anymore. The kids checked the cookie plate, opened they presents and stockings and a little while later we were off to Papa and Nana Ritzenhein's house. We opened gifts there and then headed to the Ritzenhein extended family party.

Postema Christmas

Christmas Eve was spent with the Postema side of the family. The kids had a lot of fun and Santa came by for a visit.

White Winter Fun

Before all the holiday gatherings we had some fun in the snow, made cookies for Santa and Raene had her school holiday party. I helped the class make pinecone birdfeeders and everyone had a ton of fun.

Busy Busy Bees

This last month just flew by for us. Ruby turned 3 so we had a fun joint party with her cousins, Chandler who turned 7 and Joshua who turned 8. We all went to a place called Play World where there were inflatables to climb on and tubes to crawl through. The kids had a blast and the adults didn't have to clean up afterward :)

We welcomed a new member to the Postema side of the family in November as well. Riley Grace was born to Neil's brother, Chris, and his wonderful wife, April. This is their second sweet little girl. She is so precious and she looks a lot like her big sister. We are so happy for them. And on a funny note we now have 3 Postema cousins born in a row in November - Ruby is Nov 2nd, Riley is Nov 3rd, and Chandler is Nov 4th.

Thanksgiving was a little different this year. We had my side of the family over the weekend before. It went pretty well all around other than a few people not being able to be there. I made my first turkey. Actually, this year I took on most of the main dishes because my kids are getting old enough that I was able to get more things done. The turkey was falling off the bone and was awesome. On the otherhand, I accidentally left a bag of giblets at the neck - hehe, and my sweet potatoes didn't turn out as well as they have in years past. Oh well!

Unfortunately, the kids and I missed the Postema Thanksgiving this year because Raene came down with a case of Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease. It's not as terrible as it sounds other than being pretty contagious among kids. Raene handled it like a champ most of the time although she was pretty bummed about missing her school Thanksgiving Feast and not getting to see her cousin, Ashley during the holiday.

And things are starting to come together around here for Christmas. We are making plans and getting things ready for Santa. The snow is in abundance and it really is beautiful.
