The heart of the matter - 17 weeks

I had my doctors appointment today. There was a lot of new things to go through. First, my nausea is still a problem, so she is having me try a combo of two over the counter drugs to try and ease that up. If that doesnt work then I might be forced to try a prescription in order to get on with daily life.

Second, I am being sent to a cardiologist because my heart palpitations are so frequent. I have been having them several times a day and they are probably going to put me on a monitor for 24 hours and then look at the results. My doctor thinks that there's really nothing to worry about but she wants to make sure the cardiologist feels the same way. I've heard this is a fairly common thing that can happen in pregnancy. I'm not that worried about it but glad they are checking it out.

And lastly, my ultrasound. They decided not to schedule me for another month :( Rather frustrating since I was really hoping for two weeks but it seems that there may be a lot to discuss at my next appointment so they want to do a normal appointment directly following my ultrasound. Which means more waiting.

On a good note, the heartbeat sounded great. 145 beats per minute.

the only good thing, i found about them spacing the ultrasounds out so much, the pregnancy goes sooo much faster.

good luck with your cardiologist appointment. :)
